Whirl

Whirl is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Chapterhouse, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Dinosaur Jr. and The Cure. Those roots explain a lot about how Whirl arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Broken Water, Thrushes, Stellarium, Bloody Knives and Scarlet Youth, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Anne, Yuragi, Best Coast, Death Of Lovers and Nothing, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around Whirl, reaching back through Chapterhouse and forward to Anne. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
