Disco Inferno were an English band active in the late 1980s and the 1990s. Initially a trio of guitar, bass, and drums performing in an identifiable post-punk style, the band soon incorporated digital sampling drawing from various aural and musical sources, and atmospheric and hypnotic songwriting. While commercially unsuccessful during their existence, the band acquired a cult following, with critics regarding them as a key first wave post-rock act.

Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, also known simply as Silver Mt. Zion, and abbreviated to SMZ, are a Canadian post-rock band that formed in 1999, originating from Montreal, Quebec. The group was founded by Godspeed You! Black Emperor co-founder Efrim Menuck, who was joined by fellow Godspeed members Sophie Trudeau and Thierry Amar. Aside from these core members, Silver Mt. Zion has undergone almost yearly personnel changes, evolving by stages from a mostly instrumental trio at the time of its first recordings into an eight-piece group, and then in 2008 into a strongly vocal quintet.

Mark David Hollis was an English musician, singer, and songwriter who was the co-founder, lead vocalist, lyricist, and songwriter of the new wave and post-rock band Talk Talk. Hollis achieved commercial success and critical acclaim in the 1980s and 1990s as a member of the band and wrote most of the songs, including hits like "It's My Life" and "Life's What You Make It". Though primarily a vocalist, Hollis became a prolific multi-instrumentalist, as he played guitars and keyboards.

The Twilight Sad are a Scottish post-punk/indie rock band from Kilsyth, formed in 2003. The band is currently a duo consisting of founding members James Graham and Andy MacFarlane. They have released six studio albums, as well as several EPs, live recordings and singles.

The Notwist are a German indie rock band. Formed in 1989, the band moved through several musical incarnations, despite maintaining a relatively stable line-up. While their early records moved through heavy metal into dark indie rock, their recent efforts for which they have received the most attention have been strongly influenced by the electronica scene, along with other groups on the record label Morr Music.

Menomena is an indie rock band from Portland, Oregon, United States, made up of Justin Harris and Danny Seim. Both members of the band share singing duties and frequently swap instruments while recording. In concert, Seim plays drums, while Harris swaps between a number of instruments.

Giardini di Mirò was an Italian rock band from Cavriago who played a mix of post-rock, psychedelia, shoegaze, dream pop, noise, and post punk.
