6lack is a Contemporary R&B and House act. Their catalogue also touches Industrial and Trap. Their sound grew out of Sasha Keable, EARTHGANG, THEY., Tierra Whack and Gallant. Those roots explain a lot about how 6lack arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Tory Lanez, Roy Woods, Saint Jhn, THEY. and dvsn, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Khalid, Ty Dolla Sign, Future, J. Cole and Offset, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 62 connections around 6lack, reaching back through Sasha Keable and forward to Khalid.
