Cavetown is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of mxmtoon, AJR, Pinegrove, Twenty One Pilots and Joji. Those roots explain a lot about how Cavetown arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Chloe Moriondo, mxmtoon, dodie, AJR and Lovejoy, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into beabadoobee, Chloe Moriondo, HUNNY, mxmtoon and Pierce the Veil, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 32 connections around Cavetown, reaching back through mxmtoon and forward to beabadoobee. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
