Alternative rockEmoHardcore punk

Pierce the Veil is a Alternative rock and Emo act. Their catalogue also touches Hardcore punk, Progressive rock and Rap. Their sound grew out of Karma Police, Sleeping with Sirens, Silverstein, Beach Weather and Cavetown. Those roots explain a lot about how Pierce the Veil arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Isles & Glaciers, My Chemical Romance, Get Scared, A Heartwell Ending and Escape the Fate, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Cartel, BT, Dance Gavin Dance, Bury Tomorrow and Vana, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 52 connections around Pierce the Veil, reaching back through Karma Police and forward to Cartel. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
