Twenty One Pilots

Alternative rock
Alternative rockElectropopRap

Twenty One Pilots is a Alternative rock and Electropop act. Their catalogue also touches Rap and Reggae. Their sound grew out of My Chemical Romance, Paul Meany, Saint Motel, Lights and Mikey Way. Those roots explain a lot about how Twenty One Pilots arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as half•alive, Panic! at the Disco, I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, AJR and Wallows, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Linkin Park, Being as an Ocean, AJR, Cavetown and Good Kid, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 70 connections around Twenty One Pilots, reaching back through My Chemical Romance and forward to Linkin Park. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
