Mother Mother is a Indie rock act. Their sound grew out of Josh Martinez, Rare Americans and Crawlers. Those roots explain a lot about how Mother Mother arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, The Orion Experience, Tally Hall, The Hoosiers and The Brobecks, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Adam Lambert, The Cat Empire, The Wailin' Jennys, The Trews and Cavetown, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Mother Mother, reaching back through Josh Martinez and forward to Adam Lambert.
