Del Amitri is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Twenty One Pilots, Simple Minds and Gun. Those roots explain a lot about how Del Amitri arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Deacon Blue, The Beautiful South, Big Country, Wet Wet Wet and Ocean Colour Scene, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Squeeze and The Silencers, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around Del Amitri, reaching back through Twenty One Pilots and forward to Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
