◇ image via WikipediaDesaster
Desaster is a Black metal act. Their sound grew out of Hellhammer, Destruction and Venom. Those roots explain a lot about how Desaster arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Bewitched, Nifelheim, Aura Noir, Sodom and Abigail, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sodom, Sabbat, Kreator, Unleashed and Primordial, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Desaster, reaching back through Hellhammer and forward to Sodom.
