DJ Mehdi is a Electronic act. Their sound grew out of Wordy Rappinghood, Zombie Nation, Ed Banger Records, Ideal J and Chromeo. Those roots explain a lot about how DJ Mehdi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Cassius, Mr. Oizo, Justice, Myd and IAM, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sam Sparro, Zombie Nation, Erol Alkan, Uffie and Miike Snow, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 44 connections around DJ Mehdi, reaching back through Wordy Rappinghood and forward to Sam Sparro.
