Echo & the Bunnymen

Echo & the Bunnymen is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of People Are Strange, The Teardrop Explodes, Madness, Bad Manners and The Sound. Those roots explain a lot about how Echo & the Bunnymen arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Cure, Adam and the Ants, Bauhaus, Public Image Ltd. and The Wedding Present, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Rico Blanco, The Teardrop Explodes, Inhaler, Strawberry Switchblade and The Chameleons, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 41 connections around Echo & the Bunnymen, reaching back through People Are Strange and forward to Rico Blanco.
