They run in the same orbit as The Wedding Present, The Soft Boys, The Monochrome Set, Adam and the Ants and Dexys Midnight Runners, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Echo & the Bunnymen, Dead or Alive, Spiritualized, echo and Dreadzone, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation.
