Echosmith is a Rap and Rock act. Their sound grew out of The Mowgli's, Coldplay, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Smiths and The Killers. Those roots explain a lot about how Echosmith arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Walk the Moon, Zella Day, Rachel Platten, Hayley Kiyoko and Smallpools, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Audien, Owl City, Zedd, Arcade Fire and for KING & COUNTRY, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 46 connections around Echosmith, reaching back through The Mowgli's and forward to Audien.
