El Chombo is a Reggaeton act. Their sound grew out of Cutty Ranks and Flex. Those roots explain a lot about how El Chombo arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as El Alfa, Tego Calderón, Don Miguelo, Lorna and Trebol Clan, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Lorna and Latino, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around El Chombo, reaching back through Cutty Ranks and forward to Lorna.
