Eluvium is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Aphex Twin, The Sight Below and Destroyalldreamers. Those roots explain a lot about how Eluvium arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Stars of the Lid, Brian McBride, Hammock and Bing & Ruth, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Balmorhea, Jesu, Pacific UV, Explosions in the Sky and The Sight Below, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around Eluvium, reaching back through Aphex Twin and forward to Balmorhea. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
