Emma Louise is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of HNNY and Sarah Blasko. Those roots explain a lot about how Emma Louise arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Preatures, Sarah Blasko, Lilly Wood & The Prick, Ball Park Music and Mallrat, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sam Smith, Flume, INXS, Wankelmut and Boy & Bear, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 29 connections around Emma Louise, reaching back through HNNY and forward to Sam Smith.
