Guillemots

Indie rock
Indie rock

Guillemots is a Indie rock act. Their sound grew out of Noisettes, Babyshambles, Björk, Rufus Wainwright and Paul McCartney. Those roots explain a lot about how Guillemots arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Boxer Rebellion, Thirteen Senses, The Zutons, The Futureheads and Doves, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ida Maria, Snow Patrol, Damien Rice, Sons and Daughters and KT Tunstall, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Guillemots, reaching back through Noisettes and forward to Ida Maria. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
