Paul McCartney is a Alternative rock and Classical act. Their catalogue also touches Psychedelic rock and Rock. Their sound grew out of Wintersleep, Here's Little Richard, Shapes of Things, Unplugged (The Official Bootleg) and Art Neville. Those roots explain a lot about how Paul McCartney arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Wings, Paul McCartney & Wings, The Beatles, John Lennon & Yoko Ono and Badfinger, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!, Big Star, Lee Rocker, Change the World and Sound Affects, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 214 connections around Paul McCartney, reaching back through Wintersleep and forward to Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
