My American Heart is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Thursday. Those roots explain a lot about how My American Heart arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as A Change of Pace, This Providence, Just Surrender, The Audition and Acceptance, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Emanuel and All We Know Is Falling, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation.
