Positive Force is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of 7 Seconds. Those roots explain a lot about how Positive Force arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Change, Gwen McCrae, Shalamar, The Whispers and Fatback Band, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bikini Kill, Fugazi, Girls Against Boys and Q and Not U, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Positive Force, reaching back through 7 Seconds and forward to Bikini Kill. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
