Sadat X is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of O.S.T.R., Hi-Tek, R.A. the Rugged Man, Prince Paul and Lord Finesse. Those roots explain a lot about how Sadat X arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Mad Skillz, Brand Nubian, Large Professor, Ras Kass and Grand Puba, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into DJ Honda, Common, Talib Kweli, Ill Bill and Kurupt, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 54 connections around Sadat X, reaching back through O.S.T.R. and forward to DJ Honda. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
