Shaznay Lewis is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Basement Jaxx, Biz Markie and Trevor Jackson. Those roots explain a lot about how Shaznay Lewis arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Mutya Buena, Sugababes, All Saints, Melanie C and Honeyz, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into General Levy, Westlife, Stooshe, Backstreet Boys and Take That, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Shaznay Lewis, reaching back through Basement Jaxx and forward to General Levy. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
