Slash is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of M. Shadows, Billy Gibbons, The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness, Sympathy for the Devil and Danny Carey. Those roots explain a lot about how Slash arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Alter Bridge, Velvet Revolver, Guns N' Roses, Tremonti and Black Stone Cherry, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Trews, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance and Jason Bonham, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 76 connections around Slash, reaching back through M. Shadows and forward to The Trews. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
