Extreme

Extreme is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Dweezil Zappa, The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness, Queen, Living Colour and Pat Travers Band. Those roots explain a lot about how Extreme arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Tesla, Poison, Damn Yankees, Firehouse and Dokken, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Thunder, Porno Graffitti, Marissa Nadler, Van Halen and King's X, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Extreme, reaching back through Dweezil Zappa and forward to Thunder. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
