Snow is a Dancehall and Hip hop act. Their catalogue also touches Reggae. Their sound grew out of MC Shan, Rick James, Junior Reid and Eek-A-Mouse. Those roots explain a lot about how Snow arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as MC Hammer, Will Smith, Diana King, Maxi Priest and Kris Kross, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Con Calma, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Sly and Robbie and Shaggy, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 41 connections around Snow, reaching back through MC Shan and forward to Con Calma.
