Switch is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ms. Thing, Bonde do Rolê, Raydio, Alex Clare and Jermaine Jackson. Those roots explain a lot about how Switch arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as L.T.D., Con Funk Shun, The Whispers, Lenny Williams and The Gap Band, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Cadence Weapon, DeBarge and Duke Dumont, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around Switch, reaching back through Ms. Thing and forward to Cadence Weapon. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
