Cadence Weapon

Cadence Weapon is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Great Lake Swimmers, Basement Jaxx, Switch and Daft Punk. Those roots explain a lot about how Cadence Weapon arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Buck 65, Busdriver, Homeboy Sandman, Yasiin Bey and Aesop Rock, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Islands, Ciara, Jacques Greene, Buck 65 and Noah23, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Cadence Weapon, reaching back through Great Lake Swimmers and forward to Islands. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
