The Deele is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Babyface, Midnight Star and Manchild. Those roots explain a lot about how The Deele arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Troop, Al B. Sure!, Shalamar, Ralph Tresvant and Surface, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into MF DOOM, We Belong Together, Troop, Pebbles and The Whispers, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around The Deele, reaching back through Babyface and forward to MF DOOM. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
