Emo

The Front Bottoms is a Emo act. Their sound grew out of Modern Baseball, GDP, Pom Pom Squad, Blink-182 and Say Anything. Those roots explain a lot about how The Front Bottoms arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as MCCAFFERTY, Sorority Noise, Slaughter Beach, Dog, Remo Drive and Hot Mulligan, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Lovejoy, carolesdaughter, Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around The Front Bottoms, reaching back through Modern Baseball and forward to Lovejoy.
