The Rapture

The Rapture is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Pional, Josef K, Cassius, Vertigo Records and WhoMadeWho. Those roots explain a lot about how The Rapture arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as LCD Soundsystem, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, The Bravery, The Virgins and Les Savy Fav, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Little Boots, Riton, The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand and Interpol, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around The Rapture, reaching back through Pional and forward to Little Boots. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
