Psychedelic rock

The Warlocks is a Psychedelic rock act. Their sound grew out of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Market Karma, Rivers Cuomo, The Black Angels and The Telescopes. Those roots explain a lot about how The Warlocks arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Singapore Sling, Black Market Karma, The Asteroid #4, Flavor Crystals and Loop, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Interpol, Moby Grape and The Raveonettes, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around The Warlocks, reaching back through The Brian Jonestown Massacre and forward to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
