The Youngbloods is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ultimate Spinach and Chet Powers. Those roots explain a lot about how The Youngbloods arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Buffalo Springfield, Traffic, Tommy James & The Shondells, The Young Rascals and The Lovin' Spoonful, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Zero, Mimi Fariña, Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, Charlie Daniels Band and Bahari, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 33 connections around The Youngbloods, reaching back through Ultimate Spinach and forward to Zero. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
