The Young Rascals

The Young Rascals is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Olympics and Syndicate of Sound. Those roots explain a lot about how The Young Rascals arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Herman's Hermits, The Box Tops, The Grass Roots, Paul Revere & The Raiders and Three Dog Night, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Pato Banton, The Shangri-Las, Pat Benatar, Lighter Shade Of Brown and David Cassidy, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 26 connections around The Young Rascals, reaching back through The Beatles and forward to Pato Banton. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
