Untouchables is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of First Two 7"s on a 12". Those roots explain a lot about how Untouchables arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Teen Idles, The Selecter, Derrick Morgan, Judge Dread and ASC, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sonic Youth, Ignition, Rites of Spring, Youth Brigade and Rain, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Untouchables, reaching back through First Two 7"s on a 12" and forward to Sonic Youth.
