Xscape

Rhythm and blues
Rhythm and blues

Xscape is a Rhythm and blues act. Their sound grew out of Rozonda Thomas, Joe, Keith Sweat, Manchild and Do You Know. Those roots explain a lot about how Xscape arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as SWV, Kelly Price, Dru Hill, Keith Sweat and Donell Jones, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ann Marie, TWENTY88, VanJess, Timbaland and Salt-N-Pepa, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 45 connections around Xscape, reaching back through Rozonda Thomas and forward to Ann Marie. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
