They run in the same orbit as The Brand New Heavies, Carleen Anderson, Rahsaan Patterson, Change and Brooklyn Funk Essentials, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into J Dilla, Q-Tip and Jay Dee, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 50 connections around Amp Fiddler, reaching back through Maxwell and forward to J Dilla. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
