Synth-pop

BigBang is a Synth-pop act. Their sound grew out of Mathias Eick, DoraDora, 1TYM, Boys Noize and Psy. Those roots explain a lot about how BigBang arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as GD&TOP, Daesung, T.O.P, Block B and 2PM, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into HUNTR/X, IU, Saja Boys, Jackson Wang and Blackpink, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around BigBang, reaching back through Mathias Eick and forward to HUNTR/X. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
