Psy is a Hip hop act. Their sound grew out of I Am the Best, Fantastic Baby, GD X TAEYANG, Gain and Queen. Those roots explain a lot about how Psy arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Agust D, Tablo, Suran, J-Hope and BTS, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Rosie, Blackpink, Pentatonix, Cassidy and Lady Gaga, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 58 connections around Psy, reaching back through I Am the Best and forward to Rosie.
