Candlebox is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Blind Melon, Midnight Oil, John Lennon, Bo Diddley and Eleven. Those roots explain a lot about how Candlebox arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Days of the New, Temple of the Dog, Mother Love Bone, Collective Soul and Fuel, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Alanis Morissette, Deftones, The Prodigy and The Flaming Lips, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 42 connections around Candlebox, reaching back through Blind Melon and forward to Alanis Morissette. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
