Hanson is a Alternative rock act. Their sound grew out of Manticore Records, The Honorary Title, The Dust Brothers, Locksley and The Love You Save. Those roots explain a lot about how Hanson arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as O-Town, Jesse McCartney, Five, Michelle Branch and M2M, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Drake, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, JPEGMAFIA and Phantom Planet, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 42 connections around Hanson, reaching back through Manticore Records and forward to Drake.
