Jonas Brothers is a Pop act. Their sound grew out of Prince, The Rolling Stones, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Avril Lavigne. Those roots explain a lot about how Jonas Brothers arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Jesse McCartney, Niall Horan and Demi Lovato, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Wonder Girls and Rachael Lampa, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 82 connections around Jonas Brothers, reaching back through Prince and forward to Miley Cyrus.
