Mt. Joy

Mt. Joy is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Del Water Gap. Those roots explain a lot about how Mt. Joy arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Caamp, Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners, The Lumineers, Gregory Alan Isakov and Chance Peña, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Head and the Heart, The Shins, Whitney, The Revivalists and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 20 connections around Mt. Joy, reaching back through Del Water Gap and forward to The Head and the Heart. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
