Chiodos is a Progressive rock act. Their sound grew out of Coheed and Cambria, Bad Religion, Saosin, Harvey Danger and Silverstein. Those roots explain a lot about how Chiodos arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Isles & Glaciers, Circa Survive, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, Attack Attack! and LoveHateHero, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Swellers and Escape the Fate, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Chiodos, reaching back through Coheed and Cambria and forward to The Swellers.
