Sleigh Bells

Sleigh Bells is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Oberhofer, Rhythm Nation, M.I.A., Janet Jackson and Beyoncé. Those roots explain a lot about how Sleigh Bells arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as St. Vincent, Cults, Ladyhawke, Chairlift and Ratatat, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Dream Wife, Grimes and Poppy, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 24 connections around Sleigh Bells, reaching back through Oberhofer and forward to Dream Wife. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
