Stabbing Westward

Stabbing Westward is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Freak of Nature, Skull Snaps, Depeche Mode, Killing Joke and The The. Those roots explain a lot about how Stabbing Westward arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Dreaming, Filter, Machines of Loving Grace, Vast and Pitchshifter, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Orgy, Berlin, The Dreaming, t.A.T.u. and Machines of Loving Grace, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Stabbing Westward, reaching back through Freak of Nature and forward to Orgy.
