They run in the same orbit as Red House Painters, Songs: Ohia, Mount Eerie, Palace Music and Nick Drake, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sunflower Bean and Puma Blue, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Sun Kil Moon, reaching back through Modest Mouse and forward to Sunflower Bean. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
