The Big Moon is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of VANT and Madonna. Those roots explain a lot about how The Big Moon arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Wolf Alice, Black Honey, Sunflower Bean, Dream Wife and The Joy Formidable, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ezra Furman, VANT, The Maccabees, The Vaccines and Pixies, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around The Big Moon, reaching back through VANT and forward to Ezra Furman. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
