The Struts is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of My Chemical Romance, The Vaccines, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin and Queen. Those roots explain a lot about how The Struts arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Des Rocs, The Darkness, American Authors, New Politics and The Fratellis, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Mike Oldfield, Guns N' Roses, The Who, Foo Fighters and Kesha, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 53 connections around The Struts, reaching back through My Chemical Romance and forward to Mike Oldfield. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
