They run in the same orbit as Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, The John Butler Trio, Jack Johnson, Ray LaMontagne and Donavon Frankenreiter, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Christophe Maé, Mylène Farmer, Jack Johnson, John Martyn and Beth Orton, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation.
