They run in the same orbit as Gin Blossoms, Dave Matthews Band, Hootie & The Blowfish, Better Than Ezra and Big Head Todd and the Monsters, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Widespread Panic, Carbon Leaf, Joan Osborne, Dave Matthews Band and Spin Doctors, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation.
